Meet Sharon

My passion for wildlife and nature started when I was a young girl and has grown deeper throughout my life. It began with the birds and curiosity led me to the bees!

10 years ago the media started sharing news about our pollinators and that inspired me to write an MA dissertation on the topic. I became totally immersed in the world of these wonderful creatures and I wanted to play a part in their protection. Compassion drives the art I create for Beefayre and the products are all in service of their cause.

Our brand isn’t just about selling products – we hope to engage our customers and help them to understand the critical importance of these tiny creatures in our ecosystem.

The more we can feel and understand the interconnection between all life on earth, the more we can cultivate a shared sense of responsibility and protection. This is at the heart of our ethos at Beefayre!

Newly worked on invertebrate pond at beefayre.. more planting to do now it’s warming up!
Chickpeas very first baby, her own baby this time and what a proud mum! She’s sat on this egg for nearly a month, the other two didn’t hatch. This’ll keep her happy though, let’s hope it’s a girl…❤️

Toads calling in the little lake. Our first swallow had just flown over yesterday !
Early coltsfoot .. there’s a bank of coltsfoot along the small lakeside that’s been here forever! One of the first sources of pollen for hungry foragers 🐝
Free to a loving home, very tame beautiful cockerel, extremely sociable! Likes family life and he’s a miniature Dutch dwarf 💙
Happy Bunty... British summer time at last, just need some sunshine now. Loads of bumbles emerging now, expect lots more during the next few days 🐝
Hairy footed flower bee, the happiest moment of yesterday! Found this male in my studio. Such a handsome bee and one of the first solitary bees to emerge. They can be found patrolling early flowers when in search of a mate so take a close look in your garden in the sunshine today! 🐝
Frogspawn in the little lake today! Frogs have been singing in the evenings recently.
A small poorly hurt but a little fuss and a bandage and much better!
