Compared to other honey types, wildflower honey contains a greater number of antioxidants. The darker the honey is, the greater the nutritional content. The more variety of wildflowers pollinated by the bees can also add to the nutrional content and also brings the addition of beneficial compounds from many different plants.
Beefayre’s honey is highly nutrional and has a great energy value, making it an easily absorbed food for children, sportsmen and the elderly. Research has shown wildflower honey is also useful in treating skin wounds and gastrointestinal diseases, which is attributed to its powerful antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties!
Indeed raw wildflower honey such as ours may provide a nutrient dense boost to our own endogenous antioxidant defence systems. In this respect honey may act as a ‘chemo-preventative’ in the onset of degenerative diseases.
As our own wild flower honey is raw and made from an abundant variety of plant species it will retain all the benefits mentioned previously! I keep a jar by the bath and several times a week I apply honey to my face for about 15 minutes. It’s really good for softening the skin…and is an underrated facemask!!
