Its been a long time since a book has gripped me so readily. ‘ The bees’ takes you on a magical journey through the hive as we follow the adventures of Flora 717 who is born into the lowest class of her society as a sanitation worker but breaks free of her class and ends up becoming a forager collecting the precious nectar for her hive and even reaching the inner sanctum of the Queen’s chambers.
Its such a lovely way to learn a bit more about how the hive community works and is a thrilling read with such beautiful detail and description. I particularly enjoyed the vivid Waggledance descriptions and how the ‘hive mind’ worked.  I also think a brilliant book to read to children.
