Fresh bee pollen is a 'superfood sprinkle' - it has a distinctive, delicious flavour and a soft texture and can be eaten in its raw natural state. We believe fresh pollen will be even more nutritionally benefical than the dried pollen as its easier for the body to absorb and contains the full gamut of enzymes and antioxidants.  Fresh, as always, is best!

Pollen can be eaten in a number of ways, try sprinkling on your yogurt, cereal, morning toast, or even better put with some honey on bread for the ultimate treat.  But please don't heat it or add to hot drinks, we believe heat can reduces the goodness.

For general maintenance take 1-2  teaspoons a day.  If suffering from illness or your system is at a low ebb, up the dose, take 3 times daily.

Allergy Note: It is rare for people to have a severe reaction to pollen and many take pollen to help overcome allergies such as hayfever.  If you suffer from allergies however, best to test your tolerance levels by putting a singular granule under your tongue and let it dissolve. If you experience any thing uncomfortable stop taking it immediately.

If in doubt seek medical advice before taking.

Ingredients:

Honeybee Pollen is described as the most nutritionally complete food that has the potential to contribute as a major food source for humans. Honeybee pollen contains 185 known nutritional ingredients including all 22 amino acids, 27 minerals, the full range of known vitamins, enzymes, carbohydrates and essential fatty acids. It is reported that benefits may also be derived from the synergistic action of these known elements working together, thus making pure pollen greater than the sum of its parts.

As bees collect nectar from the flowers, they also gather pollen by rubbing inside the bloom. Pollen comes from every type of flower on earth.  Beefayre pollen is sustainably collected from bee hives in Translyvania, where the environment is pristine and free from pesticides and pollutants.  The diversity of plants means the bees forage on a huge number of plants thereby increasing the nutritional content of the pollen.

FAQs:

How is pollen collected?

In the 1960's a system was devised for trapping the pollen so that it could be harvested and used commercially as a supplement to the human diet. A screen is set up at the entrance of the hive with a mesh large enough to let the bees pass through. As the bees push through the mesh openings, they open their pollen baskets and let the granules of pollen drop, in order to free themselves. A mesh tray at the base collects the pollen harvest, some of which is used commercially and some of which is kept back to feed the hive. Our Transylvanian bee keepers also limit the hours the mesh is in place to ensure sustainable harvesting and a happy, healthy well fed hive.

Can I overdose?

It is extremely rare for people to have a reaction eating honeybee pollen granules. If you suffer from allergies or asthma, best to test your tolerance levels by putting a singular granule under your tongue and let it dissolve. If you experience a runny nose, itchy eyes or itchy back of the throat, then don't use the product and seek professional medical advice.

Can Children take it?

It is not recommended for children under 1 years old to take any honeybee products such a honey, pollen and propolis as their digestive systems are still developing. For children over 1 years old it is fine to introduce these things to their diet. You may want to start on a lower dosage than the recommended adult dosage although it is extremely unlikely to suffer adverse effects of these products, those that have allergies to pollen, should seek medical advice before taking.

Can pegnant women take it ?

We believe this product is safe for pregnant women to take but if in doubt please seek independent medical advice.

What if I have allergies?

Those that suffer from asthma and from allergic reactions should introduce pollen into their diet with caution. In many cases taking pollen can actually help allergies such as hay fever. First test your tolerance levels by putting a singular granule under your tongue and let it dissolve. If you experience a runny nose, itchy eyes or itchy back of the throat, then don't use the product and seek professional medical advice.

Can I take it when I am on other medication?

Yes in fact we believe this is just what you should be doing. Pollen can be a balancing, restorative food as it is full of nutrients which can work in harmony with your body. Often antibiotics can have side effects and while fighting disease in one area can strip your system of nutrients.
